Early concept work for PlayJam, who commissioned a series of proposals for a new Android based games console aimed at redefining accessible home gaming.
HEX was as much about branding as product design. I wanted to create something distinctive yet simple, with a bold use of colour and energy to contrast with the clean, minimalist hardware aesthetic.
It sat slightly outside my usual wheelhouse and was certainly a challenge, but a rewarding one. With more direct product experience I would have approached it differently, though I was pleased with how the early UI and hardware concepts came together simple and effective, all produced within a week.
The project served its purpose and helped establish an ongoing relationship with PlayJam, who went on to become a consistent client.
