  MICROSOFT. 360 FACEPLATES.

  17th May 2009
These are two faceplates of a series that I produced for Microsoft’s Xbox 360 console. Now, if you’re not down with the latest video game gadgets, the Xbox faceplates are completely interchangeable – which in turn, means you can pretty much ‘pimp’ your own games console.
It was a bit odd designing something that would sit in people’s homes and become part of their daily lives. It just didn’t feel right to create something that was too brash and loud – it would be the equivalent of hanging up a giant picture of a Ferrari in your living room. Instead, a more wallpaper style/decorative approach was required.

  JAGUAR. SHOWROOM DVD.
  17th May 2009
I’ve been responsible for creating a series of these showroom DVDs for use in Jaguar dealerships to promote the brand, various models and tactical offers.
The briefs were usually quite open but the work was always intensive, with high expectations, tight deadlines and limited budgets. Having said that, I tried to match the quality of Fuel’s (Jaguar’s lead agency) brand films but for a fraction of the cost. This, as you can imagine, wasn’t always easy. But nothing worth doing ever is.

  RARE. JETPAC MICROSITE.

15th May 2009
This microsite was created to support and help promote the launch of Rare’s Xbox 360 arcade game remake ‘Jetpac Refueled’. I was briefed to produce a supporting pdf manual that could be downloaded from rare.co.uk.
Traditionally, video game manuals are shipped with each game and provide valuable background information and controls instructions. Fans often value this literature and the additional packaging as much as the game experience itself. I guess it’s something tangible they can hold in their hands that both justifies the purchase and serves as a real world link to the game experience.
I also proposed a microsite portal that would allow the user to preview and download a high-end full colour manual. The microsite allows us to go beyond the static confines of a paper-based manual. And through the use of animation and sound I was able to immerse the user into the Jetpac world. Game on.

  MICROSOFT. PDZ INTRO SEQUENCE.

15th May 2009
This was the video sequence created for the Xbox 360 title Perfect Dark Zero. Perfect Dark Zero was one of two games which were positioned to help launch the Xbox 360 console.

It was an exciting time to be at the company. Expectations were high and Microsoft had invested large amounts of money in the venture. I was involved in producing assets for the production company Precursor, and provided posed models and animated renders that were then used to create the final sequence. With a short fixed deadline and limited resources it was all a bit crazy, but all the hard work paid off and the venture turned out to be a success.
