  MICROSOFT. RARE RECRUITMENT FLYER'S
Rare Recruitment Flyer 2 Rare Recruitment Flyer 3
  28th June 2009
The problem with flyers is that the majority of them get thrown away – unread. It’s just one of those unfortunate truths. So when I was approached by Microsoft to help promote career opportunities at UK game studios using the distribution of flyers at student recruitment exhibitions – well, I had my work cut out.
After many an hour of crafting, forming and twisting, I created four different high quality art poster cards, with the job information cleanly and clearly presented on the back. Problem solved.

  LAND ROVER. OUR PLANET.

  21st June 2009
The Our Planet section on landrover.com was created by RBH in response to Land Rover’s brief to communicate their green credentials. And funny enough, it was while senior copywriter, Keith Dellaway, was cutting his lawn that he came up with the idea.
I was responsible for the sites latest facelift and redesign, aimed at increasing user click through rates. By injecting a stronger and more distinct identity giving the user a greater sense of place, and by introducing an experience that was more fluid and intuitive, the update was a success and continues to be one, exceeding client expectations and brief objectives.

  PERSONAL PROJECT. SCAMPI MOON.
  Scampi Moon Screenshot
  9th June 2009
I found myself, one quiet lunchtime, looking over some old arcade screenshots of Mario, Pacland, New Zealand Story and Wonderboy. Despite their age – and not to mention mine - I’ve always been impressed with the simplicity, the easy pickup and game play. It’s not only immediately fun but it’s also very rewarding. Plus, you don’t have to be good or interested in games to enjoy the pleasure of running, jumping and collecting random stuff, as you do.
With this in mind, I started to design my own mobile game that would embody everything I liked about these iconic games, while introducing my own blend of illustration and animation. Inspiration was taken from my local streets and parks; the Gorillaz artist, Jamie Hewlett; and from Capcom’s late 80s pixel art.
As it turns out, there is something challenging but immensely gratifying about inventing your own characters and game world. I highly recommend it.

  EVEDEN. FREYA DISPLAY BANNERS.

  9th June 2009
Okay, lets start with a bit of background. Freya underwear is aimed at the younger/youth generation who are looking for fun lingerie that fits and looks gorgeous! Simple.
My job, however, was to create a series of digital banners that would complement the Freya consumer brochure that featured a collection of spoof shop window displays, with each window exhibiting a different quirky story. I started by taking the idea onto the next logical stage, bringing each story to life through animation and user interaction. And the introduction of passing cars, shoppers, realistic object physics and parallax style scrolling helped convey real standout. Still simple – but more effective.
